WHAT IS PE AND SPORTS PREMIUM?

The Government is providing funding directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children, the funding is ring-fenced and can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

PURPOSE OF FUNDING

Schools will have to spend the sports funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this. Since 2013 the government has invested over £600 million on this funding. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the provision of P.E. and sports in schools.
